If you are calling at Corfu on your cruise then your ship will dock at Neo Limani (New Port). The island has a modern port which, though small, is fully-geared to handling the needs of cruise passengers. It can get busy when the ferries are loading and unloading cars, buses and trucks but is a very safe area for passengers to walk around.
When you disembark from the ship there is a free shuttle bus waiting to take you to the terminal – this takes just two minutes.
If you just want to visit Corfu Town on your own to see the main sights, do some shopping or just stroll around the picturesque little alleys, it is just 3km from the port – approximately 25 minutes on foot. You can also take a public bus (approx. 1.70 Euros – which you pay in cash to the driver) which will get you to town in 15 minutes or alternatively take a taxi for approximately 10 Euros each way which will get you there in about 10 minutes.
However, if you really want to explore the island of Corfu and discover the best that it has to offer, then we strongly recommend going on your own Corfu Private Shore Excursion. Even though most cruises allow you less than 5 hours to visit Corfu, that is more than enough time to discover two or three main sights and get a real feel for the island and its wonderful countryside!
